TEAE United: Oakville, Ontario, Canada
September 15-18, 2022
September in Toronto
September in Toronto offers moderate weather. Daytime temperature averages are in the low to mid-70’s Fahrenheit with nighttime averages about ten degrees lower. The summer humidity has abated by mid-September which provides great weather conditions for comfortably driving a classic Sunbeam.
Come early. Stay late.
United 39 will be based at the Holiday Inn Oakville. For those who may want to extend their stay in the area the hotel is offering the same room rate for up to three additional days total, which can be on either side of the event dates. Southern Ontario is an area of diverse attractions, both automotive and non-automotive with many interesting local destinations within a reasonable distance of our host hotel. We are planning driving tours to specific destinations on both Friday and Saturday, and people will have the opportunity to explore the area on their own. Saturday’s events will also include the traditional autocross.
We’re gonna see LOTS of cars!
This weekend has been selected to coincide with British Car Day, the largest one-day, all-British car event in North America
Participants representing over 100 British car clubs, come not only from Canada and the United States but from the U.K., New Zealand and other international destinations as well. The event is held at Bronte Provincial Park, close to the Holiday Inn. We intend to stage our TEAE concours concurrently within the larger event and have been allocated 75 spots on the show field. We will also be eligible for certain British Car Day event awards.
British Car Day draws more than 1,000 British cars and an incredible 9000 spectators. The organizers think 2022 will be epic and memorable after being cancelled two years in a row due to Covid, and they expect perhaps as many as 1500 cars will be in attendance.
There will be several featured marques including MG TD, Morgan Plus 4 (celebrating 70 years), Triumph Stag (50 years), Jaguar E-type, Triumph TR4 and MG Midget (all celebrating 60 years in 2021), and MGB, Triumph TR4 and Lotus Elan (all celebrating 60 years in 2022).
United 39 will wrap up with our banquet on Sunday evening. Other activities will include the Hospitality Room and Parts Room, and a TAC session with the intent to train some Canadian-based TAC inspectors.
Mark your calendar and, if you need to, check your passport expiration date!
United 39 will be an event you won’t want to miss, so plug September 15 to 18, 2022 into your phones, or circle it on your calendar – we’ll look forward to seeing you there!
