The East Coast Sunbeam Mecca for 2003 will be four days in September in the Harrisburg/Hershey/Gettysburg area of Pennsylvania. It’s designed to be your family’s choice for an annual vacation destination. It’s a fun filled educational experience for old and young alike. No where else will you learn as much about our nations roots and your Sunbeams ROOTES.
Tigers East / Alpines East along with its partners, The Rapier Register, Sunbeam Alpine Owners Club of America, Sunbeam Sportcar Owners Club of Canada and The Brotherhood of the Three Spires will educate us at Tech sessions, parking lot, parts area and a very hospitable Hospitality area.
Activities include adventure tours of the Civil War Battlefield in Gettysburg , PA Capitol, and National Civil War Museum. These historic tours are humbling educational experiences for young and old a like. Schools usually encourage youth to participate in these tours.
On another tour you will be able to witness the building of Harley Davidson motorcycles at their plant in York Pa. A spectacular concours d’Elegance and all ROOTES show is planned followed by the ROOTES Drive-in movie night with sound provided through your SUNBEAM radio. A free Hot Air balloon flight by a lucky Sunbeam couple will be awarded plus extra flights will be available for a fee. Free helicopter rides will be available for all who desire. The banquet will be in the new $12 Million Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) Museum. There will be a rallye in the mountains and of course all the usual Sunbeam activities expected at a UNITED. Tech sessions, Auction, Parts, Hospitality, Club meetings, Autocrossing, local tours for those who wish to see more than Sunbeams, etc. and a terrific family friendly hotel. There will be plenty of Parking Lot Time and opportunities to drive our cars.
