The rubber straps and diaphragms on most Alpine and Tiger seats have long given up their function by now. I’ve had good results using “S” springs to replace the English rubber. This spring is obtainable at most upholstery shops and is not expensive It can be mounted on the seat frames by welding or by using hose clamps, then placing a piece of carpet between the springs and foam cushion.
