I finally got around to starting the MK II restoration and when I dropped the front crossmember I found 3 cracks around one fulcrum pin mount where it is welded to the crossmember. It looks like the mount may have been used as a jacking point or possibly took a heavy hit. The car has been sitting for many years, so there’s no way to tell for sure. This crossmember is repairable, but I have a much better one to use when I start back up with the reassembly.
