I have a couple questions. What is the purpose of the two-inch hole in transmission hump located under the accelerator pedal? I do not seem to have a plug for that hole in my grommet and plug kits. What is the purpose of the two nuts on that panel near the hole?

Thanks for your help.

The hole is to allow access to the rear most sparkplug on that cylinder head and yes it is covered with a rubber plug when not needed. I am not sure what the two welded nuts are for though!

The two welded nuts are for a stop for the accelerator pedal.

Thank you gentlemen for the information.
Is the accelerator stop just a screw or a more substantial apparatus? Does anyone have a picture of the stop?
Thanks

Gene,
The accelerator stop is a piece of metal with a rubber stop. I may be able to get you a picture early next week.

Tom,
Thanks for the reply and offer. I doubt that I have an accelerator stop since I bought my car stripped of everything except rolling suspension. I have identified 99.5% of the parts that came with the car.
I look forward to seeing a picture of the stop.
Again thanks,

Thank you for the great photos. It looks as though a new replacement might be available? Any leads for the purchase of one will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks again,
Gene
