We have just set this year’s Swap Meet for Sunday, June 9th, and once again Grant and Jean Leonard have graciously volunteered to host. It is held at a perfect country setting, and there are always lots of parts available. We usually have about 15 Rootes cars out and average attendance with good weather has been about 60 people!
As we are now part of the Club as the Canadian Region, we would like to invite members from across the border to join us. The venue is only 1 ½ hours from Buffalo, and 3 ½ from Detroit.

SWAP MEET COMBO WEEKEND – June 8-9, 2019
All British Antique and Classic Car Show and Rootes Swap Meet
In a fortunate stroke of scheduling, the Headwater British Car Club has scheduled their annual All British Antique and Classic Car Show the same weekend as our annual Swap Meet, on the day before. The two event sites are only 20 minutes apart. Gary, Grant and I thought it would be a great opportunity for members to get together for a longer period of time, especially those further away, making the event closer to a mini United. We’ll all get to know each other better.
Grant has made arrangements with the local Best Western Hotel for special discounted rates. Apparently the Best Western has a great parking lot in the back which is well protected and secure. If anyone feels nervous about parking their car at a hotel, Grant has offered overnight parking on his property. We will work out the logistics of shuttling owners to the hotel if needed.
The Best Western is in Georgetown and only 15 minutes from Grant’s place. Rates have been discounted 15%, so Friday June 7th and Sat. June 8 is $161.99 CDN plus tax and Sunday is $143.99 CDN plus tax. This includes breakfast.
Book now under "British Car Event:" when calling (905) 877-6986 or 1-800-563-2476. Grant didn’t want to use “Swap Meet” as the code because that could indicate a very different type of hotel activity….lol. There are only a limited amount of rooms available at this rate as there are a few weddings occurring there the same weekend so don’t delay.
NOTE: If you agree to become a Best Western member by signing at reservation time, you get the 3rd night free. In other words, you could get three nights for $324.00 CDN plus tax, which is a real bargain.

Grant and Jean Leonard have once again volunteered to host the annual SWAP meet for the "Rootes" group. A great opportunity to drive your car through the rolling hills of Halton Hills. Bring your lawn chairs and sit under the trees on the Leonard’s country estate, and share stories with new and old friends, as well as buy/sell/trade car parts.
