  I would like to confirm that the proper lube for an Alpine gearbox with (or without) overdrive is "30".

  Yes it is straight 30 weight oil HD type. I have using it in my Alpine with OD for a long time now. Eric

  Isit OK to use 30 weight SYNTHETIC oil? Or will it sudze up and or cause leaks? mike

  I thought the gearbox/od unit used 30 non- detergent. That’s what I’ve been running in my Alpines.
