Okay, for the past 25 years I’ve wanted my great grand dad’s ’66 alpine. Now I have it and find out a ball park for rebuilding this engine is between $2500 and $3500. Holy dinero! Is this actually the going rate for an almost 40 yr old 4 banger? That is just for the standard rebuild they’ve said, not even worse case scenario they said. Holy mackeral, I said. Will I have to add engine rebuilder to my resume so I can still feed my wife and kids?

Alright, I guess I’ll be donning a new hat. I wonder how the wife and kids will feel about rice. Lots and lots of rice. Maybe a bean or two for flavor.

It just goes to show, owning a Sunbeam Alpine encourages a healthy lifestyle. Everyone should have one. ❗
