I was at a car show the other day. Just as I was getting ready to leave, I had to get out of the car. I thought I felt a slight tug on my pants, when I got out, but didn’t think anything of it. When I got home I discovered I had no button on my brake lever. Further examination revealed that the rod inside is now too short to engage/disengage the pawl. So, it looks like I’ve lost the button, broken the rod and… was there a spring in there, somewhere? If so, I’ve lost that, also.
Has anyone ever rebuilt one of these levers? I could probably bend up a new rod, but I’m not sure how everything went together. It looks like, maybe the rod goes up through the "cup" on the end of the lever, a spring went in there and the button kept the whole thing together. Is this right? Anyone got pic of it disassembled?
Thanks
Ron
