For lovers of "more power", the 1st 2012 Simeone Foundation Museum (Philly – near the airport) "Demonstration Day" will be Saturday 1/21 and will focus on "the Development of the American V8 Engine". Featured cars will be:
1950 Cadillac-powered Allard, 1953 Hemi-powered Cunningham C4R, 1963 Corvette Grand Sport, and the 1966 Ford GT40 MkII.
Check the museum’s website for more details: 2012 Driving Demonstration Days | Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum
It sounds like this is strictly an "indoor event, but 3 of those cars are among my favorites at Simeone.
Hope to see you there,
Mark

Whoa – good thing this was an indoor event, what with the snow, sleet, freezing rain, etc. that arrived overnight and generally made a mess of the roads (and parking lots) for the day.
I did not know that guest speaker Joe Spinelli ("expert on Ford engines") was the owner of a couple of restored drag cars – the Al Joniac ’69 Boss 429 Mustang and the gorgeous orange Arlen Fadely Boss 302 Maverick – and that they would be included in the display. A nice surprise!
They fired up the Cunningham and the Boss 9 inside for a little taste of unmuffled V8.
