Your list should include Sunbeam Tiger 260, B9480001. Built in South Africa.
My observation is that the numbers listed here for Sunbeam Tiger are VIN Numbers not Chassis Codes as indicated in the article heading. Chassis Codes began with JAL + 6 numbers to designate the Jensen Assembly Line. They are found on an aluminum tag that is 81mm x 11 mm riveted to the cowl of the car near the VIN plate and to my knowledge bear no resemblance to either the VIN number or the engine number. I Think Norm Miller is the only one who can provide us with correct Chassis Codes for our Tigers.
Rick, you are right of course. The chassis (or body) numbers for the Alpines and Tigers are on the SAL / JAL plates. This page from the Sunbeam Survivor has been online for a long time and in print for years before that. Better late than never… we fixed it.
