  The original rear seal on my stock 65 has a flange on it. When it was pressed in, it sat flush with the rear tail section. My new seal from Sunbeam Specialties does not have a flange. My question is, should I press the seal in so that it is flush with the rear tail section OR do I seat it all the way in until it seats which will recess the seal into the seal cavity approx 1/8" BELOW the surface of the real tail section? My uneducated guess is that it doesnt matter! Any experts out there? If so, please provide a reason. Thanks!

  If the seal itself is no taller than the original I’d say tap it in until even with the outside of the tail shaft housing. May make it easier to remove in the future if necessary.
