Perhaps I’m jumping the gun but I kinda like anticipating problems and work on solutions before I MUST. I’ve been able to source a Weber 32/36 carb, probably from a MG, but it hasn’t arrived yet. I’d like to find out as much as I can about the linkage. It doesn’t look as if I’ll be able to use much of the twin Stromberg setup, since the Strom’s linkage uses a front pivot point attached to the front carb. How did y’all set it up? Any instructions or pictures? When I get the Weber and see how it’s set up will it be obvious and I’m concerned for no reason? "Inquiring minds want to know"…or at least one curious mind? 😆
Thanks once again…I think this is the last question for the evening, but I’m sure more will be forthcomming.:)

If you can find a engine picture of a late series III or a series IV with the Solex carb the linkage for the Weber is pretty much the same.

Thanks for the info, Mike. I got the Weber today. I’m gonna have to get that linkage, what I have definately won’t work. My buddy, Dean, says he can get me one.
          Cheers

I just installed one…used the rod with 90 degree turn from the stromburgs (shortened and bent 90 degree) and then used the orig verticle rod, but had to heat and bend it in an arc to get carb to open fully…send me your email address and i can email close up pics of it…Mike

Thanks for the offer, Mike. I appriciate it. Are you saying you fashioned the Weber linkage from the Stromberg linkage? I only have a propane torch, will that give enough heat?

I don’t think propane will do it, but you would be able to make one if you upgraded to a MAPP gas torch. I made one by brazing a piece of steel plate to a 1/4 rod, all bought at Home Depot. Light brazing is pretty much the limit of MAPP gas heat, but it will do it.

I thought I’d do a little update on this post. I couldn’t tell from the pics as to how the firewall pivot point was located. I have a bracket that places this pivot point about 2 inches higher than the weber throttle. I’ve removed this bracket and moved it 2" lower. This has given me a straight shot from the pivot point to the weber throttle. It’s also caused the straight vertical rod from pedal actuator to be too close to the horizontal rod from pivot point to weber. I’m gonna have to bend this vertical rod a bit to compensate. The owner of a small local shop has given me an idea about using a piece of all-thread and a connector to link the weber throttle to the horizontal linkage rod. I think I can put the 90* bend in the all-thread instead of the linkage rod, w/o using a hi-temp torch. I’m probably not explaining this well, but when I get it sorted out, I’ll post pics.
                      Thanks for the help

I got out to the car today and put together the linkage. Looks pretty good, I think it will work well 😀 Thanks for your ideas and help.
Here are a few pics: I tried to post using the image code to post the pics directly, but the right sides were cut off. It didn’t show the full photo, so I’m posting links.
