What seat belts are original to a 66 MK1A tiger ? Have not been able to find any information in the archives or parts books.

Seat belts were usually a dealer installed item since they were an option and not required in cars when Tigers and Alpines were being sold. Dealers sold various styles and brands so it was the buyers choice if they wanted seat belts.

Well said Bob. Said well. Only thing I could add is that I’d swear there was a Sunbeam accessory list in the 60’s showing a pix of seat belt as an option. I’ll have to mine through my files that have been packed deep in our move. The typical seat belts I remember were the type with a chrome flap that lifted to release. TT

The parts book special accessories section shows a lap strap, a 3 point and a lap diagonal belt were available. The 3 point was superceded at some point during series 5 production. One of my special accessories brochures for early series Alpines shows the belt to have a buckle like TT mentioned. This style was available from Moss in years past. They may still be available.
