Most of the fog light installations tha tI have seen are made to the front valance panel. Unfortunately the valance vibrates quite a bit on rough roads, noticeably shortening the life of the expensive quartz iodine bulbs. To provide a much stabler mount for two fog lights mounted below the valance, I welded a 3/4″ square, hollow steel bar between the 2 frame ends directly above the front jacking holes. On my Series V Alpine this does not interfere with anything, including the hand crank. The bar was. drilled prior to installation. In addition to being a stable light mount, it has proven to be an excellent tow point!
