Hi Sy,

If I want to come two days early can I still get the room rate? The link won't accept the dates I put in.

You're welcome John.
By the way, I was going to call and ask if you would be willing to be the Autocross chairperson. All you really have to do is show up, which I expect you plan to do, with the list of names which you'll get from Kerch through the registration as SCCA is really running the show and we just pay our fees.
Please let me know what you think.
Regards to you and Laurie,
Sy

Could someone post directions for those of us pulling trailers and coming from the west on how to get to the hotel. I've been told that some roads are closed to vehicles with trailers.

That's true. You cannot pull a trailer on the parkways, but can on the highways. It was discussed some time ago, and Sy said he will make that information available well before the United.

Hi Tom and Eric (I think that's you)
Tom is correct and we'll definitely be giving the directions long before the actual United.
Kerch has made it clear to me that she can't put too much in the RR too soon.
Regards and looking forward to a great experience,
Sy

Hi Sy

Wanted to let you know that momentum for the United is building in Canada. So far owners of about a dozen or so Canadian cars in Ontario and Quebec have told me they intend to attend the United. Some, including myself, have already booked their hotel room. Looking forward to it.....

That's great Ron.
I hope to get a short update to RR for the next issue; I'll email you a copy as well to include in your publication.
Regards and so looking forward to seeing you and the rest of the Canadians,
Sy

It would be great if someone would post directions showing the route owners pulling trailers will have to follow which will give us an idea of the time involved to get from point A to point B. The wife may have to put in for extra vacation time due to possible extra travel time. This requires lead time for scheduling others to cover for her. A short time prior to the event does not help. I'm sure we're not the only in this position. COULD SOMEONE TAKE THE TIME TO POST DIRECTIONS FOR FOLKS COMING FROM THE WEST INSTEAD OF WAITING TILL THE LAST MINUTE.

Bob

Coming from the west, it is very likely you will cross into NY on the George Washington Bridge. I-80 runs right into it.

I am sure Sy will be getting something to us soon, but to allay your fears...back in the day when I lived on LI, i made the commute EVERY day across the George Washington Bridge to northern NJ. I took the same route you will take with your trailer. Only on the absolute worst days was the drive more than 1-1 and 1/2 hours and that was to a point further out on LI. The GW Bridge is 30 miles from the hotel.

I will not be on I 80 coming from the west. I'll be on I 78 coming from Harrisburg. Not knowing the area and AAA has no idea as far as routing me since I'll have a trailer behind me all I'm asking for is for someone to make an effort to tell me and others where I can drive and where I can't drive in order to make it thru to Long Island.
