This week in Rootes History - May 2005
In May of 2005 the Paykan (Persian for Arrow), which is a car based on the Sunbeam Arrow, ceased a long production run in the country of Iran. The venture started in 1966 when Iran began producing cars based on the Hillman Hunter line with kits from Britain, resulting in the hugely popular Paykan. Full local production began in 1985, which started an incredible run for this line of cars.

The love of the Hillman Hunter-based Peykan continues in Iran. My good friend from over there sent me this article to share with the club.

Eric, This is wonderful to see what is happening in Iran, and the history of Paykan. That's why I still have gasket sets in packaging of Paykan.
