2015 BASH question

Postby dlnoyes » Sat May 02, 2015 2:05 pm

I'm sending my BASH registration today. Anyone going who has a tool/knowhow to unscrew the bakelight shifter knob? I need to replace the dust cover (I can see the street through it), but haven't been able to undo the knob. The bottom chrome part of the knob is some sort of lock washer with two tiny holes. Don't want to break anything!

If no one can bring the special tool to the BASH... (Tiger Tom says he doesn't have one either) ... Use a leather strap or belt to loosen the knob without marring it.

A strap wrench will also work. You can get one at Sears or just about any hardware store. They come in differnt sizes so I would get the smaller one.
