article - Hillman Easidrive

Postby ImpBarn » Fri Mar 07, 2014 3:32 pm

Many thanks to Ernie for sharing his knowledge and experience with the Hillman Easidrive system. I had never heard of using magnetic powder as a coupling until I read this article. Just imagine if the electronics of the time were advanced enough to actually be reliable? I think Ernie and his brother have proved that the magnetic powder clutch is dependable technology itself. I've always despised automatic transmissions (except for my Subaru CVT), there just has to be a better way, and maybe Hillman was onto something.

"No user serviceable parts inside" ..... humbug

I found this detailed article for further reading
