Re: Wanted, body shop in Baltimore/Washington DC area

Cool, Thanks for the reply, Jim. Hagarty's adjuster came out Weds. Still haven't heard back from them, yet. I'll check them out, when I do.

Re: Wanted, body shop in Baltimore/Washington DC area

Thanks Eric, I'll give him a call, when I hear back from Hagarty. No one was hurt. Just a total screw up. Car rolled into a metal post, just outside of my community.

Wanted, body shop in Baltimore/Washington DC area

I've had a front end accident. Does anyone know a good body shop, w/Alpine experience, in the Baltimore/DC area? https://scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/35634147_1997991183568240_7725005286133465088_o.jpg?_nc_cat=0&oh=580d933ad817148c05d...

electric fan conversion?

Hi all, I'm in the process of rebuilding my engine, w/a SS NOS block. Since everything is out I'm thinking about doing an elec radiator fan conversion. I'm looking for recommendations and how too. If anyone has any experience w/doing this, I'd really appreciate hearing from you.
Thanks

locator stud

Hi All, I'm rebuilding my 1725 Alpine engine w/Sunbeam Specialties NOS short block. I need to transfer the flywheel locator stud on end of crank to new engine. I've banged on it a bit, but didn't seem to move. What is the prefered method of removing this stud? Heat? penetrating oil? bang on it more?...

Re: engine studs SV

Thanks for the replies, guys. Seems like the consensus is to not worry about replacing bolts w/studs.

engine studs SV

Hi Beamers, I'm doing an engine rebuild. I've bought the new short block, SS sells. In removing everything from my motor I've found that all the fasteners for exhaust/intake manifolds are all bolts. I know the horizontal cross fastener uses a bolt, but seems strange all of them are bolts, not studs....

Re: SV clutch hydrolics

Hi Janius, Don't know if you are still on, but I appreciate the reply. I haven't been on much either, the past couple of yrs. I ended up replacing the MC, not long ago, w/the tiger MC and adaptor from SS. Wish I'd seen this reply, before buying the tiger mc. It's working well, but the reservoir is k...

Re: group of Sunbeams

Weather in the DC/Balt area sucks, as well. I'm planning on leaving Friday morning. My car leaks like a sieve and no heater/defrost. So, if this rain keeps up, we'll be coming up in Linda's Mini. I'm a look out the window, for the weather, person and don't particularly trust forecasts, so will decid...

Possible traffic problems around D.C

I don't know how likely this is, but it might be of consideration to people coming around the Capitol Beltway (I 495/I 95), especially Friday 10/11. I've seen a lot of facebook traffic about it, and this link is to US News and World Report. http://www.usnews.com/news/articles/2013/10/07/truckers-for...

Re: complete parted out series 5-hard to find parts

If mine keeps leaking, I may need to do something about it, at the United.
Ron
Actually the problem isn't w/the cylinder, it's the reservoir. It has a lot of "pinholes" in it. I though I fixed it w/JB weld, but forgot to do the bottom.

Re: United XXXII Announcement

I'm planning on leaving Elkridge, MD (near US1 and US175) before noon on Friday. Taking US175 to US32 to I 97 to US50/US301 and on to St. Michaels. I'm flexable on time. If anyone thinks they may be on the road, on these routes around this time, let me know. Maybe we can meet up, on the road. My wif...
