Re: Need advice....

Very happy with the soft top I purchased from Rick at Sunbeam Specialties a few years back, and "plus 1" to Mike Phillips comments re. the carpet set. Hard to beat Rick's service and expertise. However, I don't have much experience with Classic Sunbeam or other suppliers... so can't really...

Mark II Oil Cooler Original Finish

As originally supplied, was the Mark II oil cooler painted with a "radiator black" finish? I am having a pin hole leak repaired in mine, and while I am at it I want to refinish it properly.

Thanks in advance.

Re: United 33 info and update

Mark, The big one under construction is getting twin 427 Fords. Not sure what the smaller speedboat is powered by. Other than the engines (and I think the upholstery, if I recall correctly) all of the design and build is done by the 13 employees at Van Dam Custom Boats. On average, takes them 18 mon...

Re: United 33 info and update

John & Laurie Logan, Pam & Tom Jeffers and many others put on a wonderful event. It was our first United (although I've been a TE/AE member since 1980), but won't be our last! Here's a link to some photos I uploaded to Fliker (wish I had taken more): https://www.flickr.com/photos/18417287@N0...

Re: Series V Tool Kit

Thanks a lot for your reply, Eric! Looks like I need to be on the look out for feeler gauges and some pliers? But... I can happily report that there is a strap in great condition to the left of the spare tire. So... now I know that the tool kit needs to be affixed by that strap. Thanks for your help...

Series V Tool Kit

I just purchased a '66 Series V Alpine (B395008497 OD LRX) from the original owner. The car has 66,435 miles on it... original paint and interior, etc. It is a real survivor that has been well cared for over the years. I plan on taking photos of various parts of the car to post here, mostly to get in...

CORRECTION: Re. Soft Tops: Mark 1 vs Mark 2

My apologies to Dave Reina who definitely HAS documented the soft top replacement process very well right here in the "Tech Tips" page (Body section). I am still going to detail the process I am going through, including digital pics start to finish. But, I will certainly benefit from his v...

Question Re. Soft Tops: Mark 1 vs Mark 2

I'm finally getting around to installing a soft top on my Mark II Tiger. I purchased the top and associated hardware from Sunbeam Specialties. Having a good time doing the restoration, which has included bead blasting the soft top frame and having it powder coated (Tiger Drylac RAL-7001 Light Gray)....
