SUBJECT: BRAKING SYSTEM FLUIDS
Our overseas associates advise us that since the Automotive Products Co. Ltd. has announced that a new brake and clutch hydraulic fluid is being made available this will supersede the present fluid used in Lockheed hydraulic components.
This new fluid is known as LOCKHEED SUPER HEAVY DUTY FLUID and meets the requirements of the International SAE Specification 70 R3. Thus the fluid is suitable for use in Lockheed drum brake systems and the Sunbeam Rapier disc/drum system as well as hydraulic clutch units.
Effective immediately, therefore, the recommended hydraulic fluid for all models of our Light Car and Light Commercial Vehicle range (which are equipped with Lockheed brakes) is Lockheed Super Heavy Duty Brake Fluid (SAE Spec. 70 R3).
Kindly bring the above to the attention of all Service personnel at your location.
