Lots of beautiful fall colors!

Register

Make your reservations at the Samoset by September 16! It’s the closeout date for any of our block of rooms in the Rockland area.

Samoset has received over 70 room reservations to date; however, only 50 registration forms for the event have been received. We have found that people are registered for various United activities, including the banquet, but some room reservations are inconsistent with the times of the events. We are trying to create a system of checks and balances by cross referencing the registration forms activities with the room reservation dates at the Samoset. In this way, we can identify any discrepancies and notify you.

British Iron Visits American Iron

Set aside Saturday, May 1st for an action-packed TE/AE gathering. Renew old acquaintances and make some new friends at the TE/AE, Mid-Atlantic spring event for 2004. It’s been a long winter so get out and Bring A Sunbeam Home!

We will meet at Warwick County Park located in Knauertown, Pennsylvania at 11:00am. A catered lunch will be provided along with a martial arts demonstration. Enjoy lots of parking lot time coupled with the beauty of rural Chester County.

After our bellies are full, we will travel a short distance for a self-guided tour of historic Hopewell Furnace – one of America’s oldest foundries.

For the diehard Sunbeam enthusiasts, one of the Mid-Atlantic’s premier classic car shows is the very same evening. We have reserved parking with the Pottstown Classic Car Club, who are the hosts of the event in downtown Pottstown, PA. There are concession stands, diners, pizza parlors and sub shops along with hundreds of classic cars for your enjoyment. The show also features a live band and raffles. Let’s show all the Mustang’s & Camaro’s what a truly unique, classic car, really looks like! Reserved parking at 4:00pm. Show open to the public 6pm to 10pm. We have attended this event in the past and it is a premier car show. The nice part is that you can leave for home at any time. Detailed directions will be mailed or E-mailed upon reservation confirmation. A local hotel directory is also available upon request.

For questions or comments, please contact your hosts, Anthony & Susan DiBattista at 610-913-7872 (evenings) or at jetbike@worldlynx.net. Registration deadline is April 15th.

30th Annual Crab Feast

Saturday, September 11, 2010
12 Noon Until Dark
Back Creek Farm, Pasadena, MD

Download the directions and the registration form here

It’s Crab Feast time again! The Chesapeake Region’s annual gathering this year marks the 30th  anniversary of combining Sunbeams and those icons of the bay, steamed crabs, for an afternoon of fun, sun and camaraderie.

Again this year, the Feast will be held at the Calvert family farm. The property overlooks Bodkin Creek, which flows into the Chesapeake Bay at its junction with the Patapsco River.   Download the directions and the registration form.

There’s lots of space for cars, people and pets. The event is on – rain or shine. The new harvest rules for Chesapeake Bay crabs seem to be working.  We are seeing large numbers of juvenile crabs.  Prospects for a good supply of crabs are excellent.  However, please provide an email address, just in case.

In addition to the steamed crabs, we’ll have catered pit beef, ham and turkey, beer and sodas.  Please plan to bring a side dish or dessert to complement the meal.  Additional lawn chairs are welcome.

Because of the cost involved in planning an event of this size, please make definite reservations by sending in the coupon on the form  with a check by August 28, 2010.  Thanks for your prompt reply. (All instructions are on the form)

For additional information, contact:  Tom or Kathy Calvert at (410) 255-8964;
or via email:  cwp2@verizon.net
